GRADE 6 NEWS

Six weeks into Term 3 and Grade 6 have already packed a lot into their schedule of learning.

Weekly spelling tests have seen some impressive results. In the first maths test for the term, all students achieved worthy outcomes due to a dedicated preparation program.

During week 3, students travelled to Melbourne to compete in the Interschool Religion and Values competition. They were carefully prepared and coached by Mrs. Amjed over many recess and lunch times, although not placed in the winning category their performance was a credit to all involved.

Week 5 was Science Week. Grade 6 joined with other year levels to participate in a fun and informative session of experiments. All students were captivated by a clever presentation and gained an insight into the wonders of science.

Interschool winter sports have been keenly contested with a round robin event in T-ball. The Grade 6’s combined with the Grade 5’s to form two teams that have shown plenty of competitiveness and skill. Other P.E. sessions have involved cycling and learning the skills to ride safely and confidently in an open riding situation.

Apart from all of the above, Grade 6s have been adjusting to a new teacher. Youth seems to have resilience so maybe the adjustment is more with the class teacher!
